Home School Activities at Grace PCA:

image

Grace PCA opens its doors to local homeschoolers for various activities through a co-op on Tuesdays. Our central location and relatively small size make for an ideal gathering spot for homeschoolers. One co-op activity is writing classes that run from August through May. They are open to five levels (ages 3rd grade and up) and use curriculum from IEW (Institute for Excellence in Writing). They are taught by Grace member Cynthia George (MAT English Education). For more information, call Cynthia at 803-643-9826 or email at cjgeorge1012@gmail.com.

For the 2017-2018 school year, the co-op at Grace will host various science labs, mostly for high school students. MathCounts competition practice sessions and a Future City competition planning group will also meet on Tuesdays. Other activities for elementary, middle, and high school ages are also scheduled. Contact Cynthia George (803-643-9826) or Wendy Hoyle (803-593-3991), whoyle1@netzero.net for more information.

For more information about the AAHE (Aiken Area Home Educators) support group, contact Wendy Hoyle (803-593- 3991) president, or Debbie Sides (803-642- 6362) secretary/treasurer. A signed statement of faith is required to join along with a small membership fee.

In previous years, several homeschooled students made the countdown round for the MathCounts competition, one coming in second place. The AAHE Future City Engineering group has placed first in the SC region twice and went on to the national competition in Washington, DC. Come join us and contribute your talents!
